BMF 2021 x PRODUCTION MENTORSHIP CALL OUT
About the Opportunity
An opportunity for two students/early-career production crew that identify as First Nations, culturally diverse, women and/or gender diverse who are looking to take the next step in their career and gain experience working on main-stage festival events.
In partnership with Brunswick Music Festival and Engineroom, participants will work closely with experienced sound and lighting operators in a safe, and challenging environment. The mentorship will include briefings, event preparation, equipment set up, running a stage with multiple artists, changeovers and shadowing operators to learn complex problem-solving skills on the day.
This mentorship opportunity will provide one-on-one guidance and significant real-life experience to increase skills and self-confidence creating workforce ready talent to feed into the industry. Working alongside highly experienced industry professionals will give mentees an insight into career opportunities within the industry, provide invaluable networking opportunities and lead to future employment outcomes.
A $1500 honorarium will be paid to the two mentees for their participation in the program. Days and hours are negotiable, however participation in a minimum of two meetings prior to the festival, and four full days work on site during the festival is required.
